About Us

  • Our Aims

Noise has always been disruptive in our daily lives in the 21st century. Many of us sought for an easy solution to achieve peace just like one of the member in our group who proposed this idea with the intention to reduce the noises caused by nearby trains, however solutions involving physical barrier was not plausible solution for him. As a result, he hopes to seek for an easy and portable solution.

As the project continued we discovered other places they may also need a cheap solution such as offices, café and restaurants. But, out of 3 we feel like offices will mostly likely want to invest in noise cancelling solution due to excessive budget allowance. There are many advantages that will appeal to offices especially from the owner’s point of view. By introducing a peaceful environment for employees to work in this can easily improve efficiency of work causing a potential increase in the revenue for the business and improved working environment. Also, in cities such as London space is very expensive leading hence to insufficient space for meeting rooms but with our product we can produce an effect similar to a meeting room without the need of expensive physical barriers. From a study conducted by Banbury and Berry (2005) suggested that the main disruption are telephone conversation and normal conversation between staff therefore our product must be able to effectively reduce the noise caused by these disruptions.

Our aims and targets for our final product:

    • Reduce conversional noise to a level 20 dB less than the upper limit, at 45 dB. Exceeding this threshold will be considered a great success..
    • Must be able to filter out frequency range of 80hz-300hz.
    • Must be very simple to set up with ease without any previous knowledge
    • Must be much cheaper than the physical counterpart.
