Control and Communication & Signal Processing Lab

Commencing week 2, you are required to undertake an experiment every two weeks. This continues for the whole of the autumn term. Details of each experiment can be found on page five of the experiment booklet. They can also be viewed on the Experiment List page. Choose one experiment from each of the scheduled periods A2-3, A4-5, A6-7, A8-9, A10-11, making sure to include AM as one of your choices, which is compulsory. Then choose one further experiment you find interesting, this will enable your preferences to be allocated within the constraints of resources. Using the experiment choice submission form, please submit your choices by 13:00 on the first Friday of the Autumn term, week A1.

Lockers are available for your use throughout your time in the department, on a first come/first serve basis,in the MSc breakout space, room 304. You can select any of the empty lockers and secure it with your own lock. When you have done that, please e-mail the locker number to the Lab Manager, together with your full name and College CID. They are in short supply, so make sure you follow these instructions to avoid disappointment.

Do not assume that, just because you have put a padlock on it, the locker is now yours! Due to the limited amount of lockers, ownership is not guaranteed until you have received a confirmation e-mail. If someone else wants a locker and has complained that there are none left, any unregistered lockers will be reassigned, lock broken and contents removed! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

You must vacate the locker by mid September, otherwise the padlock will removed and the contents discarded. (This is to allow next years students to use the lockers). You will be emailed a reminder during August.

It is important that you know the fire drill and assembly points. If the fire alarm sounds, leave all your belongings where they are and head towards the nearest fire exit, marked with a green sign:

Fire Route

Please make yourself familiar on how to act should you discover a fire. On hearing the alarm, make your way immediately to the fire escapes at the north and south staircases. Do not use the centre stairs. The Fire Assembly Point is next to the Queen's Tower, not outside the building. You must remain at the assembly point until Security personnel have given permission to re-enter the building.
Fire safety advice is available in the Estates Facilities web pages.

The fire alarms are tested on Wednesday mornings at approximately 8am.
