The EEVIL program was first introduced in a devices revision lecture to first year EEE students by Dr. Fobelets, with the support of Mr. Delakis, from the Learning Technology Department at Envision. Students answered questions that Dr. Fobelets posed with provided clickers, which were a way to generate effective class participation. Some solutions to these questions were then explained with EEVIL's illustrations and graphs. A similar activity was carried out during the second year EEE introductory devices lecture. After the two sessions, our team sent out an online survey to first and second year EEE students, seeking the general response to EEVIL's functionality, user interface and relevance to curricula.
From the results [Appendix 1], EEVIL was proven a user friendly tool in allowing students to comprehend some fundamental principles with its concise illustration. Furthermore, students appreciated the usefulness of EEVIL as a study aid and wanted more devices to be introduced in the program, without compromising the user friendly graphical interface. These results were compared to our team's observations and analysis, in order to better investigate factors of improvement for the program, which will be discussed in the next section.
The exact findings of the survey are attached in Appendix I for reference. Overall, response towards the program was positive and the survey results support our assessment that EEVIL should be improved and used as an educational tool.
