Introduction

Living in a city, it is easy to be disturbed by the noisy neighbours or the constant noise pollution around you. To deal with these problems, there are existing products which can be categorized into passive noise cancelling systems and active noise cancelling systems. Passive noise cancelling systems uses sound absorbing material to lower down noise level.  Where active noise cancelling (ANC) systems is the use of the theory of destructive noise interference to minimize the noise. However, the existing ANC products on the market is very limited, we see a potential to develop another range of ANC products. 

In order to stay away form the hustle and bustle of city life and further improve our living standard, the concept of iMute is developed. iMute is an active noise cancelling speaker that aims to cancel out noise in a certain spot in a room, hence to deliver comfort to a user who wants a quiet environment.
