Micro Ultra-Violet Index Calculator

Design Components

RGB Sensor

MUVIC detects your skin shade using an RGB sensor and places it into specific categories, each of which needing a particular amount of UV radiation for optimum body functionality. Beyond this level the radiation begins to harm the body, at which point MUVIC will tell you to get out of the sun!

UV Sensor

To know when you've had enough sun exposure MUVIC uses an Ultra-Violet sensor to measure the amount of incident UV radiation on your body. When you've got enough UV it triggers the bracelet's warning mechanism.

Processor

Categorizing an individual's skin shade as well as determining when a user has had enough incident UV radiation requires the use of an on-board microprocessor. This is so that colour corrections and threshold algorithms can be applied.

Block Overview

How to work it!

Operating the MUVIC bracelet is very convenient and straight forward. As a user all you will need to do is to put it on and press the power button to activate the device and scan your skin.

To obtain the optimum results we recommend you scan your skin at a different point than your wearing position as shown in the illustration below.
