After coming up with the main frame of the project report, we decided to split the groups into four sub-groups for ease of completing particular tasks. The project was broken down as follows:
Jonathan Kim and Faizan-ur-Rehman: 'Evaluation of System' and 'Further Developments'
Seun Fayemi and Huey Yuen Ng: 'Introduction', 'Possible Impact of System' and 'Conclusion'
Roger Liew Wei Liang and Sonya Chan: 'Comparison with Other Systems' and 'Commercial Viability'
Thomas Hope: Website Design
A simple breakdown of tasks is shown in figure 1 below:
Each sub-group was given an individual deadline to complete their respective tasks. It was decided that once all the portions relevant to the report were completed, the sub-groups would swap their portions and edit each other’s work. Meanwhile, the internal deadline for the compilation of the entire project was 8th February, in order to meet the early submission deadline of 10th February. Meetings were held frequently to allow members of the group to pose questions, monitor progress, make suggestions, and share their findings. Upon completion of the first draft, we shifted our attention to other aspects of the project such as the survey and presentation, so that Roger and Sonya could proceed with the final compilation. The website was developed concurrently with the report and presentation. Figure 2 below shows the full breakdown of tasks and internal deadline.
The internal deadlines were all met and we managed to complete our report as planned, to meet the early submission deadline.
